walk a mile in my shoesHealth improvement facilitators from Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust will be joining local charity Carers Gloucestershire on Saturday 15 June to recognise the important role played by the 63,000 unpaid carers in the county and to help publicise the range of advice and support services available .   ‘Walk a Mile in my Shoes’ is being run as part of national Carer’s week, to recognise the difference that carers make in Gloucestershire.  Open to all ages, the one-mile walk round Gloucester Park starts at 11am and walkers are asked to raise a minimum £10 sponsorship.

After the walk, there will be stalls music and activities, and health professionals from the Trust will be on hand in the health information bus for anyone who would like help and advice on smoking, diet and exercise, as well as how you can manage and prevent falls at home.

Anna Gibbins, health improvement facilitator at Gloucestershire Care Services NHS Trust said: ‘This event is a great chance for us to chat with residents in Gloucestershire and help recognise the hard work that carers do every day across the county. We will be there to help offer people support and guidance on a range of health issues and we will also have information leaflets for people to take away.’

The Health Information Bus will be at Gloucester Park on Saturday 15 June, 11.00am-3.00pm – drop in and say hello.
